Fireflies

On a warm summer night, Fluttershy was quietly trotting on her way home, coming back from Twilight's castle after one of the many spontaneous parties her friend Pinkie Pie have thrown over the season. Tired but alert, the silence of the nature was soothing her ears still ringing from the loud music and relaxing her nerves. The darkness was good on her eyes after all these strobing lights. She was quietly humming to herself when suddenly a group of fireflies appeared in front of her, hovering and shining of their cold light. Loving every creatures, but still surprise by their presence, the yellow pegasus observing her friends before saluting them.

"Hello my little friends." she told them with her soft voice with a smile. "How are you tonight?" she added. Suddenly, the little light bugs began to dance in front of her, mesmerizing her.
"What is it?" she asked them. They kept dancing in circle. "Huh? W-what are you doing?" she told them with her soft-spoken voice. "A-are you trying to tell me something?" she questioned them. The little balls of cold light kept dancing. "D-do you want me to follow you?" she finally asked. They suddenly stopped, hovering on place. "Oh. I'm following you, then."

The little lights quickly flew in the direction of the forest, followed closely by the yellow mare on hooves. They passed trees, bushes, many rocks, until they began to hover over a deep hole in the ground, something similar to a natural well. Confused, the mare began to question her new friends.

"Um. Why are you hovering over that hole? Is the something in..." she began before a voice cut her off whom startled her, making her step back.
"Hello? Hello? Is there anypony there? Hello?" the voice said. It came from the hole! "Hello? Please... in the name of Celestia... make that somepony is..." the voice continued. Fluttershy approached the hole which, despite the rim lighted by the soft glow of the light bugs was still dark.
"H-hello?" Fluttershy yelled in the hole.
"Oh my gosh! Oh my gosh!" it retorted back. "Finally! After so many hours in that hole..."
"Oh my goodness! A-are you okay? Are you hurt?" the yellow mare questioned the voice back with concern.
"I... I think I broke a leg when I fell..." the voice said.
"Oh no! You poor dear." the yellow mare told the voice.
"Hey! I'm not a deer!" the voice retorted.
"Um. Okay." she said bluntly. "I'm going in town to get help from my friend! I'll come back I promise!" Fluttershy told the voice before opening her wings.
"Wait!" the voice shouted. "H-how you are going to find the right hole?" the voice asked. Fluttershy smiled to herself.
"The same way that those fireflies shown me." Fluttershy replied back. "I"ll be right back" she told the voice before taking off for Twilight's castle.
"F-fireflies?" the voice asked.

Twenty minutes later, the poor mare have been pulled from her unfortunate situation and put on a stretcher held by Applejack and Rainbow Dash, thanks to Fluttershy's directions and Twilight's assistance with her magic. The mare, with light green coat and yellow mane and tail could finally relax. She turned to the yellow pegasus. "Thank you so much." she told her with tired smile.

"Oh. You don't have to thank me. It's the fireflies you should thank. They shown me the way and I just followed them." the yellow mare retorted.
"They are truly great friends" the green mare said with a smile.
"Well, hang on miss..." Applejack began, but the mare fainted. "Oh. Um. Let's go, Dash. She may need help real quick." the orange pony told her blue pegasus friend before both headed for the hospital. Fluttershy was watching them leaving.
"Hey Fluttershy." Twilight told her friend. " Are you all right?" she asked her.
"Yes. I'm just a bit tired, that's all. Thank goodness you were all still there." she replied. "Um. Where is Pinkie Pie?" she asked her.
"She left to grab some of the party stuff from the castle so we could.... throw a "we saved a pony from a hole" party." she said with a tired tone. "We better go before it actually happens."
"Well, I'm going home. I'm too tired for that" the yellow mare replied.
"Me too." the purple alicorn retorted. Both giggled. "Hey Fluttershy. Have you remarked that mare's cutie mark?" the purple mare asked her friend.
"You mean the fireflies? Yes, I did."
"Do you think it has a link to these fireflies who helped her out?" she asked.
"Absolutely. But I'm still going ask her tomorrow anyway." she responded.
"Good idea. Well, good night Fluttershy." the purple mare told her before flying back to her place, her glowing horn lighting her way in the darkness.
"Good night Twilight." the yellow mare told her, going in the other direction, her way to her cottage lighted by the fireflies.
